Scott Paxton is a partner whose practice is focused on defending foreign and domestic automobile manufacturers in catastrophic products liability cases. Scott also has extensive experience defending tort claims against manufacturers of construction components; heavy machinery; cleaning, sanitizing and food safety chemicals; and providers of insect control products and services.

Scott's experience representing automotive clients - such as Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Volvo - encompasses a wide range of defect allegations spanning all areas of occupant protection, including: airbags, passive restraint systems, three-point restraint systems, handling and stability characteristics, roof strength (including adequate A and B pillar strength), inertial release, glazing issues, seat backs, and inadequate warnings. During his seven years with Bowman and Brooke, Scott has successfully defended cases in 32 states across the nation.

Scott has been a part of numerous trial teams, including second-chair responsibilities on four multi-million dollar products liability cases that were tried to defense verdicts in Owensboro, Kentucky; Reno, Nevada; Stockton, California and San Jan, Puerto Rico.

Scott has years of experience in all phases of pre-trial work, including fact investigation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, witness and expert preparation, marshalling cross-examination on technical issues, and trial support. Recognized by his peers for his achievements in the courtroom, Scott has been named a "Rising Star" three times by Minnesota Law & Politics.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 Alaskan Malamutes, traveling through Europe and Central America, painting, hiking, and following his hometown sports teams in Detroit, Michigan.
